What are the Yonder Sustainability Certifications?

At Yonder, we aim to highlight businesses that want to make a difference in our world. We encourage our Stewards to specify any certifications or organizations that are applicable to their businesses. 

 

Learn more about the certifications we recognize, below.

 

PHIUS Certified | Passive House Institute US, Inc. (PHIUS) is a non-profit committed to making high-performance passive building the mainstream market standard. Passive buildings are created following a set of design standards making them energy efficient and reduce their overall ecological footprint. 

 

Animal Welfare Approved | Certified Animal Welfare Approved by AGW is an independent, non-profit farm certification program that guarantees animals are raised outdoors on pasture or range for their entire lives, using truly sustainable, high-welfare farming practices. 

 

Land Trust Alliance  | Land trust accreditation is a mark of distinction, showing that a land trust meets high standards for land conservation. 

 

Non-GMO Certified   | A GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism, etc. whose genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory using genetic engineering or transgenic technology. In order to be Non-GMO Certified, a products’ inputs must be evaluated for compliance with the Non-GMO Project’s standards. 

 

USDA Organic   | Organic producers use natural processes and materials when developing farming systems—these contribute to soil, crop and livestock nutrition, pest and weed management, attainment of production goals, and conservation of biological diversity.

 

Regenerative Organic   | Regenerative Organic Certification is a holistic agriculture certification encompassing pasture-based animal welfare, fairness for farmers and workers, and robust requirements for soil health and land management. 

 

Slow Food Presidia   | Slow Food envisions a world in which all people can access and enjoy food that is good for them, good for those who grow it and good for the planet. Read more about their three interconnected principles on their website. 

 

Fair Trade   | Fair Trade ensures consumers that the products they purchase were grown, harvested, crafted and traded in ways that improve lives and protect the environment.

 

LEED Home   | Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building, community and home project types, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. 

 

MSC Certified   | The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an international non-profit organization. The MSC recognizes and rewards efforts to protect oceans and safeguard seafood supplies for the future.

 

Certified B Corporation   | B Corp Certification is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. The B Impact Assessment evaluates how your company’s operations and business model impact your workers, community, environment, and customers. 

 

Yoga Alliance Certified  | Yoga Alliance is the largest non-profit association representing the yoga community. Yoga Alliance’s mission is to promote and support the integrity and diversity of the teaching of yoga. 

 

International Coach Federation   | ICF Credential-holders are part of a self-regulating group of elite coaches who provide accountability to clients and the coaching profession as a whole. They pursue and complete rigorous education and practice requirements that provide unquestioned legitimacy to their commitment to excellence in coaching.

 

Association of Nature + Forest Therapy   | Forest Therapy, also known as “Shinrin-yoku,” refers to the practice of spending time in forested areas for the purpose of enhancing health, wellness, and happiness. The practice follows the general principle that it is beneficial to spend time bathing in the atmosphere of the forest. The Japanese words translate into English as “Forest Bathing.”
